Drip Edge
An angled metal flashing installed at roof edges to direct water runoff into the gutter and away from the fascia board.
In Detail
Drip edge is required by IRC R905.2.8.5 at all eaves and rakes. At eaves, it installs under the underlayment; at rakes, over the underlayment. It prevents water from wicking back under roofing by capillary action.
