Rake Board
The trim board installed along the sloped edge (rake) of a gable roof, providing a finished appearance and weather protection for the roof edge.
In Detail
Rake boards cap the exposed edges of roof sheathing and purlins on gable ends. They're typically 1×6 or 1×8 and should be installed with the outboard edge even with the fascia. PVC or cedar are preferred for durability.
