Roofing Underlayment

The critical weather barrier between your roof sheathing and shingles — synthetic and traditional felt options for every project and budget.

  • Non-skid walking surface

Asphalt Felt (#15 & #30)

Traditional asphalt-impregnated felt paper. Still widely used and code-accepted. Economical choice for budget-conscious projects and standard installations.

Pro Tip: Which Underlayment?

For North Country roofs, we recommend synthetic underlayment on nearly every project. It's stronger, lighter, safer to walk on, and won't absorb moisture if rain catches you mid-install.

Traditional #30 felt is still a solid choice for budget work and meets all building codes. #15 felt should be limited to temporary protection or warm-climate projects.
